The Huey P. Long Bridge opened in 1935, joining for the first time the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish.

Located on Lake Pontchartrain, this popular amusement park provided New Orleans area residents with summer fun until it closed in the late 1970s.

Frank J. Clancy Gymnasium at Kenner High School, p. 25

On July 21, 1935, this gym was dedicated to the memory of John and Margaret Clancy, parents of Sheriff Frank J. Clancy. This gym cost $15,000 to build.

American Frog Canning Co., located on Jefferson Highway two miles from New Orleans in Jefferson Parish, prepared, packed, and shipped worldwide cans of white meat of giant frogs.

Lafitte Oil Field, p. 53

In 1934, evidence was found of a large field of oil eight miles south of Lafitte on the Dupree Cut when the field department of the Texas Company completed their Bayou St. Denis No. 1 well.
