 2004 Founders' Day Banquet

The Jefferson Historical Society of Louisiana, in cooperation with the Jefferson Parish Historical Commission, held its Annual Founders' Day Banquet on Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Timberlane Country Club in Gretna.

The very special guest speaker at the banquet was Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee, who, in April 2004, surpassed Louis H. "L. H." Marrero, Sr. to become the second longest-serving sheriff in Jefferson Parish History.  In honor of this remarkable achievement, the Society released its recently-published Jefferson History Notebook, Jefferson Parish Sheriffs:  A Collection of Biographies of Jefferson Parish's Chief Law Enforcement Officers.  The notebook was written by Frank J. Borne, Jr., who serves as JHS newsletter editor and webmaster.  To order copies of this or previous editions of the notebook, you may download an order form here.  To download the form, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which you may download free here.
